PRAN-RFL Partners with TVS to Enter Bangladesh Motorcycle Market

PRAN-RFL Group has officially stepped into Bangladesh’s motorcycle industry through a strategic partnership with TVS Motor Company, marking a major shift in the country’s two-wheeler landscape. The conglomerate plans to invest approximately Tk 500 crore over the next three years to build a modern manufacturing and assembly facility at its Habiganj Industrial Park.

Manufacturing & Distribution Transition

Under the agreement, PRAN-RFL will take over manufacturing and nationwide distribution of TVS motorcycles in Bangladesh — responsibilities previously handled by Rangs Motors. The new plant is designed to initially produce 5,000 units per month, with expansion plans that could double output as demand grows.

Marketing activities through PRAN-RFL’s extensive retail and dealer network are expected to begin by February 2026, strengthening TVS’s market reach and improving service accessibility across the country.

Employment & Industry Impact

The investment is projected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, supporting local industrial growth and skill development. Analysts see this move as a strong signal of confidence in Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding two-wheeler market, currently valued at approximately Tk 8,000 crore.

Electric Mobility Push: RYDO

Alongside the TVS partnership, PRAN-RFL is preparing to launch its own electric scooter brand, RYDO, aimed at making electric mobility more affordable. The company targets a Tk 50,000 price point by 2027, positioning the scooters for mass adoption.

To support EV growth, PRAN-RFL is collaborating with Glafit Bangladesh Limited to deploy fast-charging stations at retail outlets nationwide, laying the groundwork for a practical charging ecosystem.

Why the Distributor Change?

TVS reportedly sought a new distribution partner to address fragmented market coverage and inconsistent after-sales support. PRAN-RFL’s established logistics network and manufacturing experience — including bicycle production — are expected to create a more reliable service backbone and enhance brand confidence among riders.

Industry observers believe this partnership could reshape Bangladesh’s motorcycle sector by combining global manufacturing expertise with strong local infrastructure — while accelerating the country’s transition toward electric mobility.
